Occupations

As a growing town, Bloomsdale has lots of opportunities for employment. However, to make sure the game has a variety of people in different position, we ask that people look over this page to get an idea of what we’re looking for right now and what positions we don’t need.

Filled Occupations:
Chief of Police
Diner owner
Pastor

At the Gazette:
Editor

Wanted Occupations:
These are the positions we’d most like to see in the game right now as well as the ones we think will give players the best chances for interaction and getting involved in the game’s storyline. People are not limited to these jobs and can choose something not on this list for their character, as long as it is not one of our filled occupations.

Plant Employees:
There’s a variety of jobs open at the plant, including scientists, engineers, factory workers, security guards, and secretaries. Most of the positions would be filled by men, with the exception of secretarial work. The plant is the major employer in town and is central to many of the game’s plots, making it easy for characters who work there to get involved.

Members of the BPD:
Every town needs a group of people to keep the peace, and in Bloomsdale this job goes to the Bloomsdale Police Department. This is a good job for male characters interested in investigating Bloomsdale’s strange goings-on.

Farm Workers:
The other big employer in town, the farm is a good place for male characters who aren’t interested in or qualified for the more skilled plant work. If you’re interested in playing something like a poor minority character, being a farm hand would be one of their potential jobs.

*We’re currently looking for someone to play an overseer/manager type who would help the Foxwell twins in running the farm.

Eleanor Roosevelt Employees:
Where there's children, there's a need for teachers. Teaching was one of the few careers open to women during the 1950s, and working at the school would be a good job for older female characters. However, both male and female characters of any age may be teachers. If you would like to play a teacher, please specify what grade-level and what subject you would like your character to teach.

Diner Employees:
As one of the town’s popular gathering places, the Galaxy Diner needs cooks, waitresses, dishwashers and a number of other staff members to keep things running smoothly. People who work in the diner would be in a good position to interact with a variety of townspeople and find out all the latest gossip. Working at the diner would be a good job for teenagers and women.

Shop Assistants:
Bloomsdale has a variety of small shops and many of them could use a few workers to help out. These jobs would be good for teenagers and women, especially young, unmarried ones.

Bar Workers
The Black Widow Biker Bar isn't the most reputable place to work, but it pays, and it's a good place to hear the gossip that doesn't get talked about in respectable places like the diner. Employees should be 18+.
